Blogissa on vietetty hiljaiseloa, koska viikonloppu kului hyvässä seurassa ystävien luona Keski-Suomessa. Vieläpä netin ulottumattomissa, mikä teki eetvarttia tällaiselle "käyn-äkkiä-kurkkaamassa-mailit..oho-istunkin-koneella-koko-sen-ajan-kun-poikanen-laski-lampaita"-nettiholistille. Samalla kotiutettiin anoppilasta meidän viimeisin tee se itse-projekti, tuo kuvissa komeileva tuoli. Tosin tässä hommassa oma tuunailu rajoittui siihen että huom! obs! achtung! (en siis osaa saksaa, mutta tiedän kyllä että tuo meni mönkään) mies ideoi tuolin uuden ulkonäön ja minä nyökyttelin innoissaan, mies hioi ja yhdessä maalasimme puuosat mustiksi. Toivottavasti annoin nyt riittävästi kunniaa sinne minne kunnia kuuluu..:) Verhoilujen ompelu teetettiin suosiolla sellaisella joka homman osaa. Tämä siitä yksinkertaisesta syystä, että jo peruskoulun kässätuntien saldo allekirjoittaneen kohdalla oli lähinnä kasa katkenneita ompelukoneen neuloja, lammikoittain kyyneliä, riekaleisia hermoja opettajalla ja oppilaalla ja muuta yhtä mukavaa. Ymmärtänette siis, etten viitsinyt tuohon suhteellisen tyyriiseen kankaaseen alkaa kokeilemaan, sattuisiko lopputulos tällä kertaa yllättämään positiivisesti. Vaan kyl maar nyt ollaan siihen tyytyväisiä!
Paitsi nyt kun uuden päällisen sai paikalleen, alkoi häiritsemään tuolin taustan savenvärinen eleganssi, joten ehkä se viimeinen silaus on vielä edessä: näytämme sille mustaa spraymaalipurkkia.
It has been quiet here on my blog lately, because we spent the weekend in good company at our friends' place in central Finland. Out of reach to the internet too, which was a good thing for a netaholic like me, who intends to just check her e-mail but somehow ends up surfing online all the time that the little man catches Z's. On the weekend we also got our latest DIY-project home from my in-laws, the armchair shown in the pictures above. Although this time we didn't do everything ourselves. My husband did come up with the new design of the chair and I kept nodding enthusiastically, he also polished/grinded/sanded/whatever is the correct word the wooden parts and we together painted them black. I hope I made it clear who to give credit the most..:) The sewing was done by a professional. The reason is, that I sure wasn't born with a sewing machine in my hands and so far I've only managed to make a mess with that thing. So I guess you understand why I didn't dare to try my luck with that rather expensive fabric, and see if the outcome possibly would look good this time. And we are so happy now that we had someone else to do it, because the result is fantastic!
Although the wonderful clay colored back of the chair started to bug me a lot now that the new cover is on.. So maybe the final touch still has to be done: we will introduce black spray paint to the back of it.
